What is Parent Coaching?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize their personal and professional potential. As a parent coach, I partner with you to help find solutions as parents of struggling teens and young adults. Issues of families of struggling teens often include, how to re build relations, how to re establish trust, how to set healthy boundaries and how to improve communication.
How Can Coaching Help With Struggling Teens?
Parents of struggling teens also struggle. Coaching can help parents chip away at the barriers to effective relationships. Coaching can also help reestablish trust in a relationship. Coaching can help a parent set appropriate and comfortable boundaries. As children transition to young adulthood, parental roles often change in their children's lives. Coaching can help redefine the new roles. We work together to create opportunities to empower parents and to build healthy family relationships.
How Does Coaching Work?
Coaching calls are a partnership between the parent and the coach. You, as the client, set the agenda for the coaching call. You decide how best to spend our time together. Coaching is different than both consulting or therapy. As a Coach, I partner with you to help you to help you discover solutions or important revelations to help you in move forward. Coaching also works well for families whose loved ones are living at an out of home placement.
Calls usually take place over the phone or via Skype.
I am also available between Coaching appointments via email or for an additional quick call.
